Our Story
Pawtector is a project that my partner and I embarked on in 2024. We're passionate about dogs and their wellbeing, and we're excited to share our journey with you.
Aswell as being a veterinary physiotherapist, I've been involved in dog sports since I was just four years old, competing in agility alongside my family. Over the years, I've had the honour of competing in junior championships, Crufts, Olympia, and even representing Team GB at prestigious events as an adult.
Our journey began during my studies, where my research into agility equipment highlighted the constant stress experienced at the wrist in our working dogs, with similar stress patterns being noted in other dog sports. While efforts to reduce impact on our canine companions had begun with altering equipment, course design, and improving dog strength and conditioning, we realised there was only so much these measures could do to help prevent injury.
I started to notice the hyperextension and force through the wrists in my young dog when training and competing, and became determined to find a solution, researching all the ways I could possibly protect her joints. We thought, why not provide a light form of joint support, much like those commonly used in human sports? However, I couldn't find any on the market that I’d be happy to use on my own dogs, let alone recommend to clients. So, we decided to design and create our own line of wrist wraps, specially crafted for the sporting dog.
